Weekly Word 5/2/20

Category:Weekly Word Tags :

“And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” – Matthew 24:1-8.

Pestilences are fast spreading diseases that are sometimes fatal. The corona virus spread to 210 countries & territories in a few months. That’s fast!

3 irrefutable proofs of the deity of Christ are:

  1. His miracles
  2. His prophecies
  3. His the resurrection from the dead.

The 7 major prophecies of the New Testament are:

  1. Matthew 24:1-51
  2. Mark 13:1-37
  3. Luke 17:22-37
  4. Luke 21:5-36
  5. 2 Timothy 3:1-17
  6. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
  7. The Book of Revelation.

5 of these 7 were spoken by Christ! If you want to know what’s going on in these last days read these prophecies in the Bible. He told us two thousand years ago what would happen today!

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” – Matthew 24:7-8

Prophecy is the foretelling of future events before they happen. Approximately 1/3 of the Bible is prophecy. The Bible is the most amazing book on earth today. Pick up a King James Bible at Ollie’s or Walmart and start reading the New Testament. The New Testament is the back part of the Bible.

Jesus foretold about pestilence in this portion of scripture above. A pestilence is a fast spreading disease that is sometimes fatal. Covid-19 has spread to more than 200 countries in just a few months. If you have a Bible or when you get one, here are 7 major prophecies of the New Testament you can read. Some of it is easy to understand, some of it is hard, but give it a try:

  1. Matthew 24:1-51
  2. Mark 13:1-37
  3. Luke 17:22-37
  4. Luke 21:5-36
  5. 2 Timothy 3:1-17
  6. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
  7. The Book of Revelation
